**Playing Time of Benzema at Al Ittihad**
Zinedine Zidane's former teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo, has revealed that he played for just one season with Real Madrid's arch-rivals, Al Ittihad, before returning to the club in 2019.
The Spanish superstar was appointed as Al Ittihad's manager on June 24, 2018, and immediately began making changes to his squad. He made several signings, including the likes of Karim Benzema, who had been a key player at Real Madrid but had struggled to find a home in La Liga.
However, despite his impressive performances, Benzema did not manage to secure a regular place in the starting lineup. According to Ronaldo, Benzema only appeared in four league matches during his time at Al Ittihad.
Ronaldo explained: "I think it was tough for him because he was used to playing at Real Madrid and he wanted to prove himself at another level."
Despite the limited playing time, Benzema did make a positive impact on the team. He scored two goals during his stint at Al Ittihad, which helped the club to climb up the league table.
After his spell at Al Ittihad, Benzema returned to Real Madrid in 2019 and has since gone on to become one of the most successful players in football history. His time at Al Ittihad may have been brief, but it was undoubtedly a valuable experience that helped him develop into the all-around player that we know today.
