Youssef Ahmed, a former Egyptian football player and coach, has passed away at the age of 54 following a long battle with cancer. Ahmed was born on February 12, 1968, in Alexandria, Egypt.
Ahmed began his career as a professional footballer in 1987 and played for several clubs throughout his career, including Al Ahly SC, Zamalek SC, and Al Gharafa SC. He made over 300 appearances for Al Gharafa, where he won two Egyptian Premier League titles and one CAF Champions League title.
In addition to his club success, Ahmed also had a successful coaching career, serving as a coach at various clubs across Egypt and the Middle East. He coached Al Ahly SC during their historic 1999-2000 season, which saw them win all three domestic competitions.
