Bernat Settels has signed a contract extension to stay at Paris Saint-Germain until the summer of 2024, cementing his status as one of the club's most important players.

The Spaniard joined PSG in 2015 from Real Madrid and has since become a key figure in the team, helping them win two Ligue 1 titles and the Coupe de France.

In an interview with L'Equipe, Settels said: "I'm happy to be here at PSG. I've always wanted to play in France and it feels great to have finally done so."

Settels is known for his technical ability on the pitch, and he was praised by former coach Unai Emery for his contributions to the team.

He also has experience of playing under different managers, including Emery and current head coach Mauricio Pochettino, who has been impressed by his performance this season.

"Bernat is a player who can make a difference," Pochettino told reporters. "He's very intelligent and knows how to use his body well. He's a player who can score goals and create chances for others."

Settels will now need to continue to impress if he wants to keep his place in the starting lineup, but with his form and experience, there's no doubt that he'll be a valuable asset to the team going forward.
