Guendouzi, who was born in Senegal and grew up in France, joined Marseille in January 2019 from Ligue 2 side Troyes AC. He made his debut for the club in a 2-1 loss to Montpellier HSC on February 18, 2019.
The young midfielder quickly established himself as a key player for the club, making a total of 55 appearances for Marseille across all competitions during his time with the team.
